Enhancing Local Democracy Conference 2008

This is the 3rd annual Enhancing Local Democracy Conference and this year the event will include an evening drinks reception and meal on the 18th June. The dinner will provide a social and networking opportunity, with an interesting after dinner speaker.

The overarching theme of the conference on the 19th June will be the implementation of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act and the implications for local authorities, concentrating on partnership working, the enhanced role of scrutiny and the empowerment of local communities.

The conference is aimed at councillors and officers, in particular officers involved in developing and supporting frontline councillors in their representative role, such as Democratic Services Officers, Scrutiny Officers, officers with responsibility for neighbourhood or area arrangements, officers responsible for consulting and engaging the community and those engaged in policy development.

18 & 19 June  £250 per delegate for the both the evening event and the full conference day
