EARLY BIRD OFFER: £149 + VAT if you book before 30 April

Theme:

The overarching theme of the conference will be Communities in Control. Delegates will be able to hear in detail how the proposals contained in last year’s White Paper will impact on their local authorities and partners, as the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill becomes an Act.

The conference provides the opportunity to receive presentations from key note speakers and to attend inter active workshops. Speakers and workshop facilitators will examine the new duties for local authorities, implications for partnership working, the enhanced role of scrutiny and the empowerment of local communities. We’ll also be looking at the impact of the Comprehensive Area Assessment as the new regime kicks in.

Target audience:

The conference is aimed at all elected members and officers - in particular officers involved in developing and supporting frontline councillors in their representative role, such as Democratic Services Officers, Scrutiny Officers, officers with responsibility for neighbourhood or area arrangements, officers responsible for consulting and engaging with the community, and those involved in policy development.

Contact Gemma Hardman or Susie Bonfield for further details.
