OUR NETWORKS

SEE supports and facilitates a range of Networks across the region. Here we feature the Adult Services Health and Safety Advisers Network.

This is a lively and well supported group, chaired by Steve Palframan, our Health & Safety consultant. The Network meets twice a year for those with an interest in health and safety in the provision of Adult Services, including care services, day centres and residential homes.

The meetings cover such topics as HSE interventions with local authorities, violence at work, and recent prosecutions.Recently we looked at the issue of health and safety standards for care providers in the private and voluntary sector. SEE is now looking at the ‘CHAS’ accreditation scheme for contractors to ascertain if a similar system could be used to access health and safety standards of care providers.

The next meeting will take place in June 2008; please contact Bev Jackson for more information at bev@seemp.co.uk.
