Aim
This course will help you to take responsibility and identify personal and work goals as part of a structured approach to managing your career. You will discuss ways of overcoming any obstacles through a range of problem solving techniques and learn how to sell yourself effectively.

Junior managers, supervisors or individuals who wish to explore effective methods for managing their own career.

- Identifying a vision, values and visible results.
- Setting goals and establishing priorities.
- Identifying and overcoming obstacles.
- Problem solving.

- Presenting yourself effectively.
- Keeping records.
- Developing and using a network of contacts.
Style
The course will consist of some input from the facilitator and a number of group discussions and practical exercises. Participants will be encouraged to draw up an action plan at the end of the course to put into practice what they have learnt.
Venue
This programme can be run on your premises or at a shared venue for a group of authorities.
