To advise on best practice in managing family friendly work arrangements and how to implement them in the workplace.

People aspiring to supervisory or managerial roles or anyone with an interest in learning more about family friendly arrangements.

- Find out about the rights and obligations of employers and employees
- Explore recent legislation and consider its impact on workplace policies
Outline content
- The family friendly “rights” – pay and leave
- Understanding the Employee’s entitlements
- What are the employers’ rights and obligations?
- Work and Families Act 2006 - recent and forthcoming changes
- Dealing with requests from employees
Style
The course will consist of expert input through presentations, a number of group discussions and practical exercises and some cases studies. Participants will be encouraged to draw up an action plan at the end of the course to put into practice what they have learnt.
Venue
This programme can be run on your premises or at a shared venue for a group of authorities.
