Managing Change
Aim
To help participants to be proactive, wherever possible, in responding to change and to develop a range of personal strategies to cope with change.
Target audience
All levels of staff who are dealing with current or potential change at home or at work.

- Exercise regarding personal learning agenda.
- Understanding the change cycle and how we respond.
- Increasing your personal motivation
- Overcoming resistance to situations I avoid.
- Emotional Intelligence - the key to successful people.
- Employability guidelines.
- Exploring your personal beliefs about change.
- Personal change strategies including, Reframing (thinking differently), Modelling (good behaviours), Anchoring (capturing resourceful states of mind) and visualisation.
- The Wheel of Life (looking at work/ life balance)
- Summary, review and evaluation.
Style
The course will consist of some input from the facilitator and a number of group discussions and practical exercises. Participants will be encouraged to draw up an action plan at the end of the course to put into practice what they have learnt.
Venue
This programme can be run on your premises or at a shared venue for a group of authorities.
