The National Employers have today (20/01/10) informed the local government trade unions that they are unable to offer any increase in pay for 2010/11. This is in response to the unions’ claim for 2.50% or £500 a year (whichever is the greater). View the circular which explains the Employers' decision.
In addition, you will note from the Circular that the Employers stated they will be unable to offer any increase for Chief Executives, Chief Officers, Craft Workers, Workshops for the Blind. There has been no pay claim lodged from these groups to date by their negotiating bodies.
