Community Leadership

This Community Leadership course will create an opportunity to think more deeply about community engagement, community leadership and partnerships and the tools that can be used.

By the end of the workshop you will:

  • build on your existing experiences, exploring how small changes in councillor interaction with the community or in partnerships can have a big impact
  • outline how engaging more effectively can raise the political credibility of Councillors and the credibility of the council in general
  • identify different communities in their locality
  • appreciate different ways of working with their communities
  • develop techniques for obtaining feedback from their community
  • understand how to use community feedback in the scrutiny process
  • feel confident in their role as a community leader.
