• understand the scale of financial and human losses associated with accidents, incidents and ill health at work;
• be aware of the key health and safety legislation relating to the organisation, including both corporate and individual liability;
• be aware of the latest developments in health and safety, including the implications of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act and guidance concerning Directors' responsibilities:
• be able to support the principles of good health and safety management within their organisation.
