Worklessness Support

PtP ran a seminar on 13th April 2010 for colleagues in the South East leading on their local Work & Skills Plans. The session outlined Government’s expectations around Work & Skills Plans, drawing on a recent practitioner’s guide which has been published as guidance for local councils, sub-regional partnerships and partner agencies. PtP is also offering support to local areas, or clusters of areas around the development of their full Work and Skills Plans. Presentations from the seminar can be download below and the Work and Skills Plans practitioner’s guide can be downloaded here.

The future of partnership working - views from the voluntary and community sector

At a recent unitary network meeting, on the 21 April 2010, Robert Beard gave a presentation on what the third sector is, the importance and value of it and how the third sector engages ‘under the radar’ groups to become a vital part of the wider community. The third sector can be an invaluable ‘broker’ with communities of place, identity and aspiration, when discussing decisions around community cohesion and (topically) cuts in public spending or public services.

Sections of the presentation include the role of the sector in LAAs and LSPs and how the CVS is the lead organisation in the NI 7 delivery plans. The presentation concluded with how the third sector will develop and future plans for three year funding programmes.
The slides from the presentation can be accessed here: Robert Beard 3rd Sector PDF 2Mb.
