Our ever-popular annual Employment Law Update was held again this year at SEE’s offices in Winchester. We delivered this event on two days – 28th January and 5th February – and were pleased to welcome delegates from across the region and across local authority types, including Parish and Town Councils as well as attendees from District, Borough and County Councils.
The day focussed on changes to employment legislation expected both in April 2020 and beyond, along with a look at the most recent case law decisions that have an impact on the work you all do in your councils.
There were also sessions on the potential impact for employment law in the post-Brexit era, an update on discrimination legislation, a look of harassment in the workplace, and a brief overview of mental health in the workplace and what the Employment Tribunal Service is expecting from employers in this area.
Feedback from delegates suggested that you want a more in-depth look at the impact of mental health issues in the workplace, so we are developing some training in this area which we plan to roll out as soon as things get a bit more back to normal.
Our Employment Director also delivered this training in-house to a number of local authorities across the region, and other dates have been pencilled in for later in the year.
As usual, if an in-house Employment Law Update is of interest, please contact us to discuss your needs.
The cost for this training is £750 + VAT
