The implementation date for the exit pay cap has been confirmed as 4 November 2020. At the time or writing, we are still awaiting publication of the supporting Guidance and Directions which it is hoped will answer some of the questions the sector currently has regarding current exit discussions and those who are currently working their notice period.
We now know there will be a period where our LGPS Regulations will be in conflict with the requirements of the Exit Pay Cap. The LGA are seeking guidance from MHCLG on the appropriate way to progress exits while this conflict exists.
