New operational guidance for vaccination of people working or deployed in care homes has been published by DHSC.
From 11 November 2021, anyone working or volunteering in a care home will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless exempt.
Additional resources, including social media assets and a Q&A, are available on the DHSC stakeholder google drive. Dr Pete Calveley, CEO of Barchester Healthcare, has also written a blog on their experiences of implementing a similar policy this year, which may be of interest.
DHSC is also hosting a webinar on Tuesday 17 August, 12:30 – 13:30, for care home managers and providers to outline key points of the guidance, details of implementation and to provide the opportunity to answer any questions.
