Update from the LGA
GMB has announced the results of its ballots regarding the pay offers to Chief Officers and Craftworkers.
Chief Officers
GMB Chief Officer members have voted to accept the National Employers’ 2024 pay offer. However, UNISON is yet to announce the results of its ballot for this group; its national committee will be meeting early next week. As such, GMB’s acceptance of the offer does not constitute a formal agreement. The employers’ offer should not therefore be implemented at this stage.
Craftworkers
GMB Craftworker members have voted to reject the National Employers’ 2024 pay offer. Unite is yet to announce the results of its ballot for this group.
Unite has announced its Craftworker members have voted to reject the pay offer by 85% to 15%, with 90% of those who voted to reject indicating they are willing to take strike action.
