National Recruitment Campaign: virtual event
We are pleased to invite you to our annual regional recruitment event for the ‘Make a Difference, Work for Your Local Council campaign 2025/26′. This virtual event will be hosted by South East Employers in partnership with the Local Government Association and is FREE to attend.
Building upon the success of the first launch during 2024-25, localcounciljobs.gov.uk, this national campaign is being rolled out again during 2025-26, funded by UK Government. The aims of the event will be to enable all member councils across the South East Region to proactively participate in shaping the upcoming recruitment campaign, which is due to be launched later this year.
Guest Speakers confirmed:
- Kate Wilson, Business Development Manager – Osborne Thomas
- William Oldham and Isobel Parkes, Principal Advisors – LGA
- Zoe Ormerod, Senior HR Advisor – New Forest District Council
- Steven Conlin, Strategic Relations Team – DWP
Key themes for discussion will be;
- Discuss those roles you consider should be highlighted within the next phase of the campaign
- Understanding of the various media channels you feel should be targeted
- Enhancing content of the current campaign toolkit, including discussing how Councils can best utilise the materials to support any local recruitment initiatives and campaigns as well as identifying promoting the vast range of opportunities at a regional level.
We are also aiming as part of this annual regional event to enable councils across the South East opportunity to share with the network how they have utilised the 2024/25 Make a Difference, Work for Your Local Council campaign toolkit along with any key highlights and outcomes. If you would like to discuss the opportunity to showcase your council’s work, please contact Sharon Hartill, HR Business Partner via Sharon@seemp.co.uk by Friday 27 June 2025.
