SEE new Councillor Induction workshops

South East Employers will be running two New Councillor Induction Workshops following the 6 May 2021 local elections. The purpose of the workshops is to complement the induction programmes run by individual councils.

The events will include sessions focusing on the role of the councillor, ward and case work and the potential of Overview and Scrutiny. The sessions will be facilitated by Councillor Gareth Barnard – Executive Member, Bracknell Forest Council and Mark Palmer, Development Director, SEE.

Target audience

Councillors elected in May 2021 or in a recent council by-election

Cost

• SEE members: FREE as part of your SEE Membership
• SEE non-members: £99 + VAT per place

Please note:  we are limiting councils to four places total (split across the two workshops if required) for the moment as demand may be high!

The events will take place on a virtual basis by via Zoom.

Please confirm the number of places you wish to reserve by Friday 30 April 2021. We appreciate that before May 6 you will/may not know the names of the councillors who wish to attend. If you do not know all the details of the councillor(s) who will be attending, please complete the booking form with ‘TBC’ in the relevant sections and confirm with events@seemp.co.uk by the 21 May.
