Mini Surveys

Open to all SEE members and OIS subscribers.

SEE’s long running mini survey service remains available to all our members and is now available to our OIS subscribers too. Our monthly mini survey is circulated to a mailing list of HR professionals in councils across our region, who are given two weeks to respond.

Results are collated and shared with the requesting authority and those who responded to the survey within a week of the closing date. We can include questions on any topic not collected in InfiniStats for our members.

Extra for OIS subscribers:

If there is insufficient information in the system (while InfiniStats is in its growth phase) we will include such data requests within our mini surveys. Data provided by OIS subscribers will be added into InfiniStats and all responses will be circulated to OIS subscribers.

InfiniStats is a secure and intelligent data repository accelerating accurate data collectionbenchmarking and reporting within organisations, for south east region councils replacing the now decommissioned Epaycheck.

For OIS Subscribers only.

We have partnered with London Councils to offer a solution that will for the first time let south east councils benchmark themselves against each other and organisations across regions, including London

The surveys have been shaped over 20 years in consultation with Heads of HR of all the London boroughs, who meet regularly to discuss their needs. As a result, the surveys are relevant and reflect the real-life issues HR teams face.

Use of the system is via the InfiniStats website at www.infinistats.com. Not only is this an opportunity to become part of the only Local Government specific benchmarking system, it also offers your organisation a data solution to store and interrogate your own data whenever you need.

What will it involve for me?

If you do not respond to a particular survey you are unable to report on it; only participatory councils have the ability to see others’ data which gives a greater degree of confidence in the quality of the data. The more you put in, the more you get out!

There are currently up to 11 surveys included in the benchmarking offering, with the ability to easily add more as the demand arises.

What will I get out of Infinistats?

major benefit of InfiniStats is the range and quality of reports it provides, see below for more information.

Reporting

With Infinistats you are able to generate fully branded reports to which you can add your own comments, or amend the generated commentary.

You can also chose the type of graph you wish to export your data to.

This example shows the reporting council (in black) compared to others in the group:

Other formats of graph are available to suit your needs:

A scorecard can also be generated, which could easily be incorporated into an annual report:

Cendex

For OIS subscribers only.

XpertHR’s pay benchmarking resource. We recognise, in today’s recruitment and retention market, that councils are no longer just competing with each other. To help our councils understand their position in the market when recruiting to a vacancy, we now offer access to Cendex’s pay data. Simply submit a request via ois@seemp.co.uk and the team be in touch to discuss your specific data needs. If you are looking to restructure a large team or need a large number of jobs benchmarked we can support you through our consultancy service, and as OIS subscribers you don’t pay a data access fee.

OIS Network

For Infinistats Superusers and designated end users. This virtual network meets every other month to discuss key issues and look at future data needs. The network acts as a sounding board for development options for our OIS service and specifically InfiniStats.

Frequently asked questions

What are the key benefits to joining OIS?

Joining our OIS service instantly gives you the ability to compare your council against neighbouring and further afield councils plus other sector data. You can use this to benchmark against others and monitor your own trends.
All this data used in InfiniStats can be found in your in-house HR systems, but by participating in and inputting into the system you can immediately see any headline issues that need attention. It is vital to keep in mind that data forms evidence which is the primary requirement for evidence-based decision making. The OIS allows you to produce evidence to support financial investment in HR and OD initiatives and speak the language of the Corporate Leadership Team.

How and where do I start uploading my data?

As soon as you have access to InfiniStats you can start uploading data. There are spreadsheet and survey templates within the system itself. You can complete these in one sitting, or save and come back to them at any time. Any issues you have you only need to get hold of us here at SEE and we will assist you, we offer online training where required, or can even help with the data upload. All the data required should all be easily accessible from your in-house HR/Payroll systems.

How much time will I need to spend inputting my data?

You can spend as much or a little time as you want uploading your data. We know the pay surveys can be daunting to start with, but you can work in batches – year 1 work on 10 or so job families that you are most interested in, year 2 add another 10. The template spreadsheets or online surveys within InfiniStats are designed to make the system as simple as possible. Any surveys that you complete will allow you to access that data. Remember, the more you put in the more you get out.

What if the data I need isn't available in InfiniStats?

If there is insufficient information in the system don’t fret, simply get in touch with us via email at OIS@seemp.co.uk, with the job role you need data for and we can assist you. We can include Infinistats metrics data requests (from OIS subscribers) within our mini surveys. We also have access to Cendex pay data which enables benchmarking across all sectors.

Is it just South East data on InfiniStats?

No, other regions are onboarding all the time. Regions currently using the system are South East, London, West Midlands, with East of England in the very early stages of onboarding. Currently there is a national conversation, supported by the LGA, about the future of data collection within the sector and looking at how Infinistats could be the solution.

How do we access Cendex data?

Simply submit a request via ois@seemp.co.uk and the team be in touch to discuss your specific data needs.

If you are looking to restructure a large team or need a large number of jobs benchmarked we can support you through our consultancy service, and as OIS subscribers you don’t pay a data access fee.
