SEE offers a suite of courses aimed at improving your soft skills.
Each course can be delivered individually or as part of a development programme.
Assertiveness (one-day)
Aim:
To develop knowledge and skills that will enable participants to behave assertively and achieve win:win outcomes, thereby enhancing their sense of wellbeing and enhancing their impact.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Explain how assertive/behaviour differs from passive and aggressive behaviour
- Identify personal barriers to assertiveness
- Appreciate the implications of non-assertive behaviour
- Use a range of strategies to achieve “sound thinking” and assertive responses – to extend their choice of response, build resilience and manage their own ‘state’.
Presentation Skills (one-day)
Aim:
To enable participants to deliver successful presentations in their work roles.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Analyse the purpose of presentations.
- Prepare themselves and their materials effectively, including thinking about timing and structure.
- Enhance projection of confidence when making presentations
Please note that this course is focused on the people skills of presentations and audience engagement rather than about using technology.
Working with Different Operational Styles (half-day)
(plus the option of adding the use the MBTI individual profiles with feedback)
Aim:
To enable participants to appreciate how we operate differently and to get the best out of working relationships.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Appreciate their own style of operation and how this affects other people
- Understand a range of theoretical models of difference
- Adapt their style and response to strengthen working relationships
Managing Sensitive Conversations (half-day)
Aim:
To help managers prepare for challenging and sensitive conversations in order to achieve desired outcomes.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Prepare and manage difficult conversations with increased confidence
- Have a framework for getting their message across clearly and providing effective feedback as appropriate
- Manage their resilience and ‘state’ through the process
Preparing for Internal or External Applications and Interviews (one-day)
Aim:
To enable participants to participate confidently in an internal recruitment process and/or the external job market.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Identify their strengths, skills and achievements and promote these to ‘pitch’ for a role
- Write an application and CV and know how to tailor these for specific roles
- Understand routes to the job market, including building a LinkedIn profile
- Prepare for interviews and use techniques to enhance their impact
Confidence Coaching for Interviews (half-day)
· Feel confident in your overall delivery
· Be able to think clearly and confidently
· Understand the importance or personality within an interview
· Be encouraged to find your USP and highlight it
· Hints and tips for nerves and interview prep
