Salary: Circa £80-100k

South East Employers (SEE) has been the Regional Employers Organisation for local authorities in the south east of England since the 1920s.  We are an independent, not-for-profit, organisation, reporting to our Executive Committee drawn from councillor representatives from our local authorities. We always look to adapt how we operate and respond in a changing and challenging environment.

In addition to providing services directly, we procure or develop regional or sub-regional projects. We seek to generate cost-savings and resource efficiencies for our public, private and voluntary sector partners, and business communities, across the region. Our funding comes solely through membership, fee-earning consultancy and income-generating initiatives. Our focus has been primarily on people and good employment practices, sound governance and scrutiny, supporting organisational effectiveness, efficiency and improvement.

In preparing for this new role of Chief Executive, our Executive Committee is looking to appoint someone who is highly collaborative, creative and ambitious with proven leadership and senior management experience. They will have a track record of successfully delivering in their area of expertise against business and financial targets, and can demonstrate clear commercial aptitude.

A key focus is to build relationships and professional networking with senior leaders across our local authorities and their partners; continue to shape our services to meet future challenges and business direction. They will demonstrate that they can lead our team of professional experts in their fields to ensure professional standards are maintained, and develop new business areas and optimise income generation.

Your vision, fresh ideas and business acumen will translate into new strands of income-generating consultancy that you will develop and deliver to achieve your own financial targets, adding to the SEE portfolio of quality services.
