National Local Government Workforce Capacity Metrics service

Our world is increasingly driven by data and analytics to enable us to make evidenced based decisions, demonstrate value for money and to deliver exceptional services to our communities. We recognise that, as a sector, there is much to do to achieve this with regards to our workforce. SEE has been working with NARE (the National Association of Regional Employers) and the LGA to provide the starting point for this ambitious journey. Our aim is to improve the quantity, quality and usefulness of workforce data, to develop insight into the challenges facing the sector and to enable meaningful discussions and better workforce planning in our region.

From April we are launching the National Local Government Workforce Capacity Metrics service as a first step on our journey. Using our HR Metrics platform, InfiniStats, we will collect key workforce metrics on demographics, agency use and temporary staff, to help understand capacity, assess performance and benchmark against other ‘like’ councils. This is open to all councils in the region – you don’t have to be SEE members or subscribe to our Organisational Intelligence Service, and there is no charge. Plus, our HR Analyst, Rita is on hand to work with you to get your data into the system.

If you want access to more data and analysis, our Organisational Intelligence Service offers a greater range of metrics and data sources to help build the big picture across pay and HR metrics such as sickness absence and turnover.
